Why I Started Live Wedding Illustration 🤍

When I moved to the UK, I knew I wanted to build something of my own — something creative, meaningful, and truly mine.

Drawing has always been part of my life, but like many people, it slowly faded into the background as life became busier. It wasn’t until my daughter turned two that I picked up my pencil again. Watching her grow reminded me how important it is to create, explore, and follow what brings you joy.

That small moment quietly changed everything.

What started as drawing again for myself slowly grew into something bigger. I began creating illustrations for families, personalised pieces, and small projects that celebrated special moments. Through that journey, I discovered something that felt truly magical — live wedding illustration.

Weddings are filled with fleeting moments: laughter between friends, proud parents watching from across the room, guests reconnecting after years apart. These are beautiful memories, but they often pass by so quickly.

Photography captures those moments perfectly, but an illustration does something a little different.

A drawing invites people to pause. It becomes something you hold, frame, and revisit years later — not just remembering how the moment looked, but how it felt.

That’s what inspired me to start live wedding guest illustrations.

On the wedding day, I sit among the guests and draw them in real time. Guests can watch their portraits come to life, chat with me while I work, and take home a unique keepsake from the celebration.

It’s not just a piece of art — it’s a memory they can keep.

As someone who started this journey in a new country, building a creative business from scratch has been both exciting and challenging. But every wedding, every couple who trusts me to be part of their day, reminds me why I started.

Because the most meaningful moments in life deserve to be remembered beautifully.

And sometimes, the most special memories begin with a simple drawing.
